In 2014, the city of Bergamo announced its bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2019. The European Capital of Culture, a title awarded by the European Union, aims to develop cultural programs and organize cultural events with a strong European dimension. Being a European Capital of Culture is a great opportunity to generate considerable cultural, social and economic benefits, as well as fostering urban regeneration, changing the city’s perception and raising its visibility on an international scale.
For the city of Bergamo, I organized the pre-dossier application and am the editor of the tourism section for the project’s final dossier.
