Give value to the soft skills for the new graduate students in tourism

Income Tourism is the title of the new project (funded by the European Union, Erasmus +, E + KA2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, Knowledge Alliances) of which I’m the coordinator for Italy for the University of Bergamo. We have won together with a consortium of international partners with the aim of enhancing and realizing the soft skills of young students who will get into the world of work in tourism sector.

The working group is made up of 13 partners, both from the academic and from companies or trade associations: Viana do Castelo Polytechnic Institute (Portugal); CEVAL- Confederação Empresarial do Alto Minho (Portugal); CIM – Comunidade Intermunicipal do Alto Minho (Portugal); University of Girona (Spain); LARSA; University of Bergamo; GiVi (Italy); Malta University Consulting Limited (Malta); MBB – Malta Business Foundation (Malta); University of Split (Croatia), DHBW Ravensburg – Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Ravensburg (Germany); ATLAS – Association for Tourism and Leisure Education (Holland); PPLL Consult (Portugal).
The University of Bergamo will collaborate in Italy with Gi.Vi.- Guida Viaggi, leader in tourism publishing, but also in the organization of events, first of which the BIT – International Tourism Fair.

At the end of the 3 years of project we will have realized a new educational path, tested through a pilot test, aimed at training on soft skills, through a process of cooperation and co-work not only with European partners, but also with several Italian companies that we are involving and will help us to converge the needs of the training and employment sectors.

Universities, Businesses and Students, therefore, together to reflect, elaborate, build and “invent” training courses, with an eye to European trends, because now it is necessary to be aware that companies are increasingly internationalized and young people can become one tool for development, growth and enhancement for our system.
